Inari Late February early March 2018

We are looking at travelling to Inari Late February, early March and wondering what the tempretures will be like ? snow, sun, northern lights and what to wear, coming from a warm climate I don't think shorts and flip flops will cut it in the cold of Lapland Finland, and where is a good place to purchase some warm clothing ? we are arriving into Helsinki mid February, I have been told the clothing for winter in Australia wont be good enough for the cold of Finland ..... please help

We went to Finland end of Feb. last year, we took base layers, mid fleeces (or fleece body warmer), a down jacket (mid level for day, thick for night husky ride) and salapets (ski trousers). also Gloves, a Good snood (or buff), Walking boots, ski socks and Woolly hat are necessary.

What layers you use will depend on activity, cross country ski I only had trousers and base layers on, husky ride base+ mid + Thick down Jacket and walking during the day base+ mid + light down jacket.

I will also say hand warmers were very useful to stick into a backpack, just incase.

Some good links:

Hope that helps
