Visiting Gothenburg in January

Hello all,

I am planing to visit Gothenburg in late January. Could you please recommend things to do and see?

Also do you know if Liseberg is opened in this time of the year? I would like to visit the IceBar in the park.

Bring water proof clothes! January in Gothenburg can be very wet and rainy.

January is usually cold and/or wet. Liseberg will not be open.

Indoor activities like museums. I wouldn't recommend visiting in January if visiting Gothenburg is the main purpose of your trip.

Thank you all for helping.

I was expecting that I would find snow there, not rain. Maybe I will than plan a visit in April. Hope it is better as weather.

Gothenburg has a wet and mild maritime climate. It might be snow, but I wouldn't count on it.

Hi!

I live in Gothenburg, and i can pretty much agee with all the answers above.

April weather is very unpredictable. It rains A LOT. But don't be put off, it can be nice and sunny as well.

When it comes to attractions....well, what are you interested in?

I am visiting Gothenburg in 2 weeks time, 2 adults and 1 child, looks like museums are the best option unless anyone can recommend other activities, is there anywhere close for things such as snow walking or is it more likely to be wet?

Also, what's the best recommendation for getting from the airport to city centre, staying at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia.

Thanks

It has been raining a lot lately but it’s supposed to snow this week. Museums and indoor activities will probably be your best bet and maybe have some fika in Haga. Try their big cinnamonbuns.

You can take the airport bus into town and then it’s a short walk to your hotel.
