Apartment location advice and wi-fi availability

Hi!

We hope to book an apartment in Sodermalm near Folkungagatan and Renstiemas Gata.

Is this a good location for proximity to interesting cafes, shops, etc?

Can we walk to Gamla Stan?

Is the area safe at night if we return late after midnight?

Are there cafes nearby that would have free wi-fi?

Thanks,

Mary

Yes, it's a really nice area, one of the better in town if you ask me. There are plenty of good cafés and shops around, especially in the area surrounded by the streets Folkungagatan, Renstiernas Gata, Götgatan and Ringvägen.

Gamla stan is a 15 minute walk away (give or take five minutes depending on what side of the Folkungagatan / Renstiernas gata intersection you're staying).

It's perfectly safe area to walk in after midnight. Just use regular common sense and you'll be fine. (I live nearby and walk wherever and whenever I go somewhere. I never feel unsafe).

Thank you for your reply!

The apartment does not have a computer or wi fi. If we bring our laptop is there a place with free wi fi nearby? a cafe perhaps?

Many cafes and bars in Stockholm have free wifi, so you will probably find one close to where you will stay.
