Which Area to stay in Please?

Hi there, would love to visit Copenhagen this Christmas 26-29th December and after some advice on the best area to stay in with 2 young teenagers? Obviously we want to visit Tivoli but wondering if everywhere is fairly easy accessible on public transport. Would anyone recommend Nørrebro as accommodation seems more reasonable there. Looking forward to hearing some suggestions.

Many thanks.

Hi,

While I don't live there, I know plenty of people who do, and I love going to Nørrebro. It's a bit rougher on the edges than Indre By - which I think gives it a bit more charm. It's also less touristy than Indre By.

Pretty much everywhere, with a few exceptions, is easily accessible by public transport. Use http://www.journeyplanner.dk to get an idea of how to get from A to B.

If you're staying near Nørrebrogade, you can take bus 350S and 5C to the city centre - and there's a lot of buses on those routes, so you won't have to wait for long.

Parts of Inner Nørrebro is also within walking distance to the city centre.

Some alternative-scene art galleries, nice cafes & foodie places etc. around Jægersborggade, Skt. Hans Torv/Guldbergsgade/Elmegade, Blågårdsgade, Ravnsborggade (which as antique shops).

The Assistens Cemetery is worth a visit, the little Jewish cemetery in Møllegade is a small gem.

Hi,

Hope you do mind me piggy backing on your post?

My wife, 4 year old daughter and I are planning a 3 night stay in early December to see the Christmas markets.

We are also keen to know what areas are near the main markets and Tivoli?

Thanks in advance for any advice

I paid a little extra to stay near Nyhavn, but later found out that everywhere is fairly easy accessible on public transport and I didn't need to do that.

Perhaps someone could tell me - would Scandic Palace be a good choice for Tivoli and Christmas markets? Thanks

Scandic palace is fabolous hotel and only 5 mins away from Tivoli.

I have stayed there a few times and is super central with very comfortable beds and large rooms
