Transfer Heraklion to Chania

We are planning a trip to Crete next May flying from Manchester. We may need to fly in to Heraklion but our accommodation will be in Chania.

What are the options for travelling between the Heraklion airport and Chania?. Any recommended companies who do a transfer? Is there a bus transfer? What would be the approx. cost.

You can take the public bus, which runs hourly and takes just under three hours. The fare is €15.10.

A taxi would be quicker, but of course much more expensive. This will give you an idea:

There are flights to Chania from Manchester; Tuesdays with Thomson, whoever Olympic are using and Ryanair; and Ryanair also fly one or 2 other days, including Saturday. That has been the case for a couple of years now, it could change next year of course.

We pre book a taxi before we fly over.

We get the price sorted then pay the driver on each leg.

We use Cretan taxi, Nikos the owner is great.

The price we found was reasonable and the cars are usually Mercedes or similar.
