There is no metro to Glyfada, you must take either a bus (quicker) or a tram.

It's actually a combination of metro and tram, indeed :)

Depending your location at Piraeus ( is it Piraeus main seaport you are atarting from? ) you 'll have to take the Green metro line for one stop, from "Piraeus" to "Faliro".

There, you 'll cross the pedestrian bridge and take Line 3 from there, to "Asklipieio Voulas".

-----------------

Tram will get you as far as Voula. If you want to proceed to further beaches, you 'll have to take the E22 bus ( separate ticket needed ).

---------------

You can easily get directions in Google Maps, if you put your start and end point. Athens public transportation is ( very recently ) almost fully embedded in Google Maps and you can get analytical directions on possible routes / directions / times there too.

( Indeed, no such thing as metro tram exists. It's a metro and a tram. Metro is the subway system, tram is the tram :) These two cross each other at certain stations to hop from one to the other ).

In order to use Google Maps, you can just put the areas you wish to head for. Example: "Piraeus", "Glyfada" or "Vouliagmeni". This will get you an indicative route. To get an even more accurate route, you 'll have to put an adress in.
