Newbies to Albuferia & Portugal....

Greetings, we've just booked the Brisa Sol for a week (1st in September) although well traveled we've never been to Portugal and really can't wait.

Nearly went to Brisa Sol the other year but were forced to change our plans so never got and promised ourselves we had to try and make it.

Heard & read good reports about the hotel and our daughter has just returned from Albuferia (girls holiday all 20 somethings) and absolutely raved about the place they loved it strip & especially the old town.

Anyone got any recommendations for us (both 40 somethings) who like entertainment on an evening tribute acts bands comdiams etc etc.

Appreciate any info...

if you like tribute bands the best place in the old town, are the Bank Bar/restaurant & Rock Cafe, both on the main square. There are also some tribute acts ie Michael Jackson who play at the Ancora Bar on The Strip, they advertise on a board outside to let you know what the entertainment is.

Cheers Jayjan, probably should have worded that better basically any entertainment in general was just generalising & missed out the comma's.

Is the Brisa Sol within easy walking distance of the Old Town ?

Yes

Brisa Sol is within walking distance of both the Oldtown and the Strip, being located about half way between both. Right next door you also have the Modelo Shopping Centre, so the located is exscellent for most things you may wish to do.

It was open and in full swing when I passed it last week. Not sure about the dancing, you will have to look on the entertainment board outside.

Yeah we are just back and could hardly drag ourselves away from The Steps Bar just halfway up steps at tunnel. There is great musician there from around 9.30 to 1.30and drinks usually around 1 euro less than bar street. We love our music and it was so varied and we tried to think of different songs every night when he took requests. Which he usually always knew how to play. You can check out his website at www.martinjonathon.co.uk also The Bank bar at end of bar street has some nights were have live rock bands.

Try Steps pub in Old Town (above entrance to Tunnel). Really good singer/guitarist and a more relaxed atmosphere away from Square.
