I am planning to go in May or June and with the recent news, I am not sure if coffeeshops are accessible to foreigners. Can someone clarify for me? thanks

Yes the coffee shops are and will be open to foreigners..

Let's see what the collapse of the government will bring us. Several new legislation will be held controversial by parliament and will be decided after the new elections in (probably) September.
