Alghero with kids

We are heading for one week at the beginning of Sept. Wondering if there is much to do in the evenings for kids in terms of entertainment, outside of the hotels? Or is it very much just bars and restaurants? I'm getting nervous now that it's not as kid-friendly as spain etc would be.

Thinking of renting a car for a couple of days so hopefully we can get around to other places but hoping alghero will cater for them also and keep them busy?

How old are the kids?

Not much in the evenings for younger ones, no.

Entertainment does revolve around bars and long, leisurely meals in restaurants. There may still be some street entertainments at the beginning of September, but it is the end of the season.

There are playgrounds etc. and you could try Le Ragnatele adventure park and other activities during the day (including beaches) but it's not a resort that is geared to families the way some of the Spanish resorts are.

As suggested dont miss Le Ragnatele but make sure they are open the day you go as they have scheduled days of opening. Also in the harbour area all Summer there is an amusement Park. Then, in the street Alghero-Olmedo there is a Butterfly house with garden, Butterfly area and swimming pool, they also organise different activities and I noticed there is a shuttle to get there.
