Where to stay in Sardinia & how to get there from Rome!

Hi,

I'm trying to book a trip flight from Rome to Sardinia and was wondering if anyone knows what airlines fly from Rome please?

Also where should we stay in Sardinia? WE will be coming for a week and would like somewhere close to and with a nice beach, walking distance to nice restaurants & bars! But somewhere with little or no building work!!

But we also would like a nice hotel or villa, if the list is all possible!

Any help much appreciated

Thanks

Laura,

July is a long time away & a great deal can happen by then. Ryanair are currently in discussions with Alghero airport, with a view to making it a European hub, with up to 18 Ryanair flights a day from all over Europe - That could change things for you considerably.

Let's assume that things remain as they are - then you may want to consider leaving the mainland from Pisa .Ryanair fly from there to Alghero, at a fraction of the price that AirOne charge for the Rome - Alghero route or Meridiana charge for Rome (FCO) to Olbia or Cagliari. Pisa is an easy train journey through central Italy from Rome.

If you arrive in Alghero, the town is 10kms away & a bus is available to convey you into town. Unlike Cagliari, you will not need to transfer to another resort, out of town, to find all the items on your wish list - they are all available to you in Alghero.

Good Luck.
