Bergamo to Florence

I will be flying to Bergamo in August, there is a group of five of us. I was just wondering would the best way to get to Florence be heading into Milan and then getting the train down to Florence or is it possible to hire someone to drive us down there (none of us would be happy to drive on Italian roads!)

Thanking you in advance.

What time are you arriving in Bergamo??? and more importantly what time are you flying back

you pays your money and takes your choice.

There is a direct bus from Bergamo Airport to Milan Cental Train station.

Generally runs every 30mins and journey take 1hr

There are Eurostar services directly to Florence from Milan. Takes 1h45 and costs €53 single. The cheaper Regional Intercity services (€29.50) take over 3hrs.

What ever you decide bear in mind your overall transfer times and fitting in with your flights

5 of you sharing a car rent will certainly reduce costs and it'll be motorway all the way down but then when you get to Florence you'll have problems with parking etc.

As for the train solution: you can take the shuttle bus from the airport to to Bergamo railway station:

It's a 20 min ride then take a train to Milan (50 min ) and there change to a train to Florence. The Freccia Rossa takes 1hr.45.

Total cost: 57,70€ in 2nd class (more than regional trains)
