You can't guarantee weather anywhere, but I've been twice to GC in January and on both occasions we had fantastic weather, 75c on average and it rained just one day on the two holidays.

We've also had a number of holidays in Tenerife between November and January and we found the weather in GC a lot sunnier, Tenerife seemed to be a lot cloudier IMO.

It should be around 25 c in the day in the south could be cooler or warmer you could get the odd shower but it soon drys up if you get one you may need a light jacket for night times :-

The Best Climate in the World

According to a study conducted by Dr. Thomas Whitemore, a US climatologist, which compared 600 cities from around the world, the capital of Gran Canaria was identified as the city with the "best climate in the world"! Because of its oceanic subtropical climate that is primarily determined by the Trade winds, the climate on Gran Canaria is wonderfully pleasant throughout the year.

PS.- Yes you can get a good tan all year here in the south of the island - just make sure you stay in the south anywhere down from Playa del ingles to Puerto Mogan
