Magno Black Soap

Hi everyone.

We are regular visitors to Torremolinos.

I am looking for Magno Black Soap for an old friend.

Must admit I have no recollection of seeing it in town.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Soap !

Black soap made in Spain.

It's been around for years since the 60's.

Used to be very popular.

It’s black, yes, but also nice on the skin. Smells nice, too. I also like the olive oil Spanish soaps.

So how pleased was your old friend with the Magno soap? I’m back in Florida now but heading to Benalmadena in November. Probably will look for more soap again😊

Hi Spacecoastfloridagal,

My friend was delighted with the Magno soap.

Found it no problem as we knew the shop with all the bottles in the window well.

Thanks I never would have thought of looking in there.

The funny thing is we were in the nearest newsagents / souvenir shop to the Melia hotel and they had it there too.

We have had 7 holidays at the hotel in the past few years and never noticed the soap !!

Best Wishes Amethyst

Have a great holiday in November ( what a long journey for you )

I’ve been going to Torremolinos since the 80s, every 2-3 years when working but since retiring in 2006 I go a few times a year. Wish I’d bought a place way back when but too old to deal with that now.

I only stay a couple weeks when I go because I have a greyhound and don’t want to impose on my dog-/house-sitter friend to have to take care of my house (and pool) and dog for too long each trip. She does it for free, a big savings for me, and I take care of her greyhounds when she travels, but I have the better deal since she doesn’t travel often. I can’t leave my house during peak hurricane season—typically August/September/October so try to go in June or July and November, even though being from Florida, November in Spain is colder than I like.

Perhaps we’ll meet up one day at the soap shop—ha ha!

Interested in post about Magno soap, thought would make nice souvenir from Spain, Bit of research came up with this info. Contains lanolin and glycerin. Originated in 1950s in La Toja region of NWSpain, made from minerals and salts from hot springs there. . Unique scent, dense white lather, supposed to leave skin soft and firm.will look out on next visit. New recruit for magno black soap appreciation group! !
