Bringing Food into Germany

I will be visiting some family in Germany and would like to bring them fruits as part of my gift. Will this be a problem in customs? Thanks in advance for your advice!

I think you should contact German customs:

As Bill2005 already said it might be best to contact customs.

Anyway, I usually fly to the UK once a year to visit friends and normally I take food (e.g. bread or chocolate) with me and also bring food (e.g. tea) back with me. So far I had no problems but don't know if I'm allowed to do that or not.
