Which would be better?

My question is should I keep cash or use debit cards for transactions in Germany? Is there a German prepaid card I could get at a bank to use so I know for sure it will work in all systems? If so, are there typically limits set on these cards? Any info is appreciated!

Your debit cards might or might not work, my Dutch one works in some places not in others, same when I go to the UK . Check with your bank but there is probably a transaction charge. In which case draw cash as and when you need it. Sorry I have no idea about prepay credit cards here but as credit cards are less common here then probably not

You can easily withdraw Euros from German ATMs, using your regular bank ATM card. If you do this, let your bank know you will be traveling in case they block your card for unusual activity. Also take your bank's 24-hr international help number, in case they block your card anyway.
