Itinerary suggestion for 12 days trip in Aug/Sep.

Hi.

I will be flying over from London and planning to go Berlin, Rottenburg, Black Forest and Dusseldorf, then train back to London (or should I fly back?)

Not sure if the below itinerary is doable with public transport and how far each places is, how to get around, how many days to stay in each location, etc.

Appreciate your advise.

Berlin

- Holocaust Memorial

- Reichstag

- Tiergarten

- Brandenburg Gate

- Unter den Linden Boulevard

- Kurfurstandamm

- Berlin TV Tower

- Berlin Wall

- East Side Gallery

- Checkpoint Charlie

- District of Potsdam

- Park Sanssouci

- Sachsenhausen Memorial Museum

- River Spree

Rothenburg ob der Tauber

- Cobblestone streets

- Walk the Town Walls

- Mindfulness walk

- Gyrocoptor wow

- Water garden/jungle gym

- Market Square

Black Forest (where should i stay?)

- Black Forest National Park

- Cuckoo clock making

Dusseldorf

- River Rhine

- Wildpark

- Nordpark

- Kiefernstrasse Community

- Schloss Benrath Castle

For that list in Berlin, Potsdam and Oranienburg I would plan 5 days (3 Berlin +1 +1). May be another one if you have one deeper interest (e.g. museum) you want to go for.

Before Rothenburg you could stop-over in Bamberg or Nuremberg.

My opinion is on Dusseldorf:

I never considered Kiefernstr as a place to see. even after it has changed a bit in the last years, I would not walk it in the evening (sorry inhabitants, if I do you wrong) The area around it "Flingern" is an upcoming in- place and you may find some Pubs or Restaurants there.

Other places you mention in DUS are easily reached by public transport. 3 days/4 nights will do.

For traveling between Berlin and Dusseldorf, I recommend the train. ICE will not take longer than traveling from City to Airport to Airport to City.

In Düsseldorf I would suggest to visit the Medienhafen with the Rhein Tower and the Schiffahrtsmuseum situated in the old Schlossturm which offers a nice cafe, too.
