public transportation from Le Havre.

We will be docked in Le Havre and would like to tour the area. Honfleur sounds interesting.

Is there any public transportation to get there other than a cab?

What other areas are interesting and not too far from Le Havre. Giverny? What is there?

We have already been to Paris and it is too long a ride to go back for such a short time.

Thanks

You can use www.commentjyvais.com to plan public transport in the Normandy region. You'll see there are buses between Le Havre and Honfleur but you'll have to see if they are convenient for your schedule. A taxi from Le Havre to Honfleur is likely about €50 or €60 each way. With only one day and being constrained by cruise ship docking and departure times you won't be "touring" much but you could certainly do a visit to Honfleur and also Le Havre. Check their tourist office websites to learn what to see and do in these places:

Doing one of the ship's excursions, renting your own car or going on your own guided tour will allow you to see more than you could on your own if relying on public transport. You could not see Giverny and Honfleur on the same day if relying on public transport. If you want to visit Giverny you'd take a train from Le Havre to Vernon and then the shuttle bus to Giverny. Book train tickets 3 months in advance for the cheapest prices at trainline.eu. You can see the Monet website for further info about visiting there:
