Bayeux and Mont St Michel

We are going to be in Paris from 9th June to 14th June.. We would like to see the Bayeux Tapestry as well as Mont St. Michel..

Is it possible to do it in one day? Or should we stay overnight - if so where?

How should we travel? Train or by bus?

Are there any tours? If so pl give their names and website..

Thanks..

You'd have to saty overnight in Bayeux, take th ehotel churchill shuttle to mSM then visit th etapestry on your return to Bayeux. This all depends on the availabilty of the churchill shuttle.

Thanks..

Tried to book at Hotel Churchill, but they were sold out..

Does the Hotel Churchill shuttle take other passengers besides the hotel's guests?

Are there any other hotels you can recommend ? And do they have a shuttle to MSM?

The shuttel takes other people but there's only 8 places. Don't know of another service

.If you don't allready have a hotel, I think you'll be lucky to find one.

Other possibility is to rent a car and perhaps stay further out from Bayeux..

Here are some hotel links I've saved:

http://www.hotel-churchill.fr/en.php

http://www.liondor-bayeux.fr/

http://www.hotel-bayeux-reinemathilde.fr/

http://www.hoteltardifbayeux.com/house.html

…monsite-orange.fr/page2/index.html

http://www.hotel-dargouges.com/

http://www.hotel-villalara.com/

Give them a try, but as cpmac has suggested, hotels in the town of Bayeux tend to be small. For a June travel date, I'd get on this right away. If there was another MSM shuttle service, cpmac would be the one to know. Renting a car is probably your best option.

We took the train from Paris to Bayeux. It takes 2 hours.

There are several hotels in Bayeux. Book asap if you want to take Churchill shuttle to Mont St Michel. There is only one van as mentioned above. Tapestry only takes about an hour, so you will have time to do both in one day. The D-day tour with Overlord tours was fantastic. I highly recommend it.

Oh if you want to take a D-day tour in one day and return to Paris the same day, there is a tour leaving from across from the train station in Bayeux, that is half day. Web site is www.normandy-landing-tours.com

I do though recommend the full day tour with www.overlordtour.com

troggs, thanks so much for your links! We were lucky enough to get a room for July at the Reine Mathilde... This is our second trip to Bayeux and rather a last minute stop - thought we'd have to stay elsewhere along our route. Thanks again!
