weather in June?

hi, i was thinking of making a long weekend in Biarritz after D-Day tour around June 10 or so. Is the weather warm enough for ocean swimming/ tanning etc?

also, if i were to have a car, are there must see things, cool places to go to around the area?

thanks

The weather will be very nice in June, but since you´ll be in the Basque Country you can expect almost everything. From really warm days perfect for swimming and tanning to grey/rainy (yet beautiful) days. If it´s not very sunny you can always try some surfing.

If you have a car you can got to Saint Jean de Luz for shopping and Anglet for beautiful beaches.

Yes, the weather will be fine in early June, about what you'd find on the coast between Vancouver, B.C. and Seattle.

If you have a car, your options are nearly unlimited. You can head inland to Sare, one of the most beautiful villages you'll find in the region, Espelette, the best red pepper in the world, Itxassou, the black cherry village, again, the best in the world, Ainhoa for lunch at Hotel Ithurria, or to Saint-Pee-sur-Nivelle for lunch at Auberge Basque, my favorite restaurant in the Pays Basque.

You can also cross over into Spain and visit Hondarribia and San Sebastian-Donostia for the day. It's a short drive and the lunch options are unlimited.

You might be interested in downloading a copy of Maribel's Guide to the Pays Basque (www.maribelsguides.com). It hasn't been updated lately, but is still one of the best guides for the area.

Hi,

June will be lovely weather in Biarritz - we recently visited Biarritz & loved it.

You will need 2 full days to explore Biarritz .. its best just to walk around the town.

For a romantic treat - have a cocktail at Hotel du Palais or lunch.

Can anyone recommend a tour company or private driver for the day from San Sebastian to Biarritz with touring on the way?
