I'm visiting with my partner and another couple for a wedding in Dublin at the end of August and we've bolted on 2 extra nights (Sunday and Monday) to have an explore.

I'm very interested to visit Glendalough and am wondering where a good base would be. Requirements are somewhere with a few pubs/restaurants to enjoy in the evening - maybe some live trad music - and thats it really!

Is Wicklow town itself a good base? Is Bray better? Any other suggestions or things to do!?

Oh the other option is to go to Galway so if that's the better option say!

I'd head for Galway if I were you. Lots of B&B's with parking on College Road.

Though you need to make sure there are no festivals / events on during your planned dates.
