Christmas in Killarney

We have spent many enjoyable summer holidays based at Beaufort and have decided to go there for Xmas and New Year. We will self cater, but would like to eat out Xmas Day. Is this possible around Killarney and if so, where ?

I can't think of anwhere that will be open for Christmas dinner, other than hotels catering for residents only. Even of you could find somewhere open, I would expect the prices to represent poor value.

I would suggest that you self-cater on Christmas Day

Marks and Spencer do a good compromise.

You can order in advance and collect on either the 23rd or 24th. They provide a good range of prepared meals for Christmas.

This doesn't answer your question about lunch on Christmas Day, but if you are in Killarney over the festive period, you might find things of interest on this site:

There is a "dining" section, but it doesn't specifically mention Christmas Day.

If you don't mind traveling an hour or so to Kilfenora - between Tralee and Fenit - you can have Christmas lunch at The Tankard:

Following on beanalainn's suggestion to order in advance, the Hotel Teach De Broc in Ballybunion is offering that option for pick up on Christmas Eve. See links above for details.

Try the Brehon Hotel, had christmas dinner there a couple of years ago and it was excellent, meal, service and more importantly no arguments over washing up. I believit is still open to non residents. "not cheap, but definately worth it.
