It would make for a very long day on our last day in Ireland. Is it worth taking up the whole last day of driving to make a short pit stop? Are the Cliffs really worth it?
Cliffs of Moher viewing are weather dependent.
For that much of a detour i would say no.
To view the Cliffs without crowds of people then you really have to be there before 10.30am and after 6pm which may not fit into your schedule
So let’s assume I’m there at lunch time. Crowds probably wouldn’t be a deterrent since this may be my only trip to Ireland and my only chance to see the Cliffs. Is it worth the extra 4 hours of driving I would have to do that day to see them?
I understand they are weather dependent. Let’s assume the weather is good on my last day in Ireland. Let’s also assume this will be my only trip to Ireland in my lifetime. Are the cliffs impressive enough that I should spend my whole last day in the country driving so I make sure not to miss seeing them?

Not the Cliffs of Moher but much more accessible and enjoyable as a day trip on your last day in Ireland.
Plenty of alternatives should the weather not cooperate:
NO. not for that detour
I agree. No to an extra four hours in the car.
Personally, I would do it. The images I've seen of the cliffs are spectacular. I'm going in June and this is going to be a must-see. But that's a long ride just for a day trip. It's up to you actually. How important is it to you? :)
