Aircoach to Dublin airport stops right outside the hotel, and the service is very frequent:

I walked with my children from the hotel to Grafton Street and it took about 15 minutes, so it would be just a few minutes more to walk to Temple Bar area and beyond to Dublin Castle. We felt perfectly safe walking back at night.

If you're looking for somewhere for breakfast, then Kilkenny Shop is on your route; they serve a good variety of dishes upstairs in the cafe. We also ate breakfast in the hotel one morning and it was very good: nice selection of hot dishes to order (rather than buffet style), plus pastries, cereal, yoghurt, and fresh fruits to choose from.

It's my hotel of choice for Dublin :-)

The hotel is on the edge of the south city centre area, about 15 minutes walk from Grafton Street and 20 minutes or so from Temple Bar. Dublin Castle might be about 25 minutes.

Dublin Airport is located to the north of the city and is about 30-40 minutes by taxi and somewhat longer by bus, depending on service and route used. See www.aircoach.ie for airport express coach details with routes in or near the hotel.

Thanks. We will have our car with us. Not worth it to return the car for only one day in Dublin. Would it be an easy drive for us back to the airport? Off of main roads?

If driving, you can head to the airport via the Eastlink Bridge and the Port Tunnel. It's a reasonably straightforward route (though with one or two twists and turns) and involves tolls on the bridge and at the tinnel. However it bypasses the city centre and the northern suburbs and gets you to the airport fairly quickly.

You could also travel via the Samuel Beckett Bridge which is toll free and on a reasonably easy to navigate route which would also avoid the centre of the city.

However, leave the car at the hotel if going to various downtown locations you note in your original message.
