Take a look at the Top Questions about Dublin on the right hand side of the Dublin Forum for tons of information about visiting Dublin, including places to eat, traditional pubs and day trips from the capital. Have a read of this and then post again if you need any more help.

Castleknock is about 12km west of Dublin city centre and as you've been here before you'll know that the majority of popular sights and attractions, restaurants, the best traditional pubs etc. are in the city centre, as are the mainly bus and railway terminii and tour pick up points (if you're planning day trips by tour or public transport) so you'll need to travel in and out of the city centre from your hotel.

There is a very "quaint" pub on your doorstep if you dont want to venture too far its about 15 mins walk max "The Stawberry Hall" located on the Strawberry beds. If you come out of the hotel turn right and right again onto Somerton hill. At the end of the hill turn left and the Strawberry is about 100 yards on your right - you wont be disappointed.

When you come to the end of the hill if you turn right about Hundred yards up is the Wrens Nest - a very quirky pub!! real local again you wont be disappointed - great spot.

There is also a very good pub in Lucan Village about 10 mins drive from the hotel called Kenny's excellent for food. If you want a real treat try Becketts in Leixlip excellent food, service and ambiance you will probably have to book

For good reasonable eats in the area try Brasserie 15 in Castleknock village or the Thai Garden in Blanchardstown - you will have to book the latter.

BTW Hotel is very good for bar food
