Days Hotel Park West - Help!

Hi all,

Thinking of booking the Days Hotel Park West for a 4 day break in Dublin. It is 4 mile out of the city centre, however, read a review that a new train station was due to open really close to the hotel in August (08). Can anybody confirm whether this is the case please, as if transport is restrictive we may need to think again??

the train station is open. the journey takes about 15 mins however you would need to take the luas (tram line) to reach the city center after your train. it only takes about 10 minutes. the last train is at 11 o clock at night and a taxi to that area would be around €20 minimun. personally i wouldnt stay in the area. its mainly a business area (park west business park) and is not served very well by public transport. try looking at hotels or bnbs in rathmines its only 10 minutes on the bus (with traffic !) or a 15 walk into the city center. good luck!

It is true that the station is open however it is currently not served that often. See www.irishrail.ie for an idea of the service. They are still working on the railway line here increasing it from 2 to 4 tracks and when this work is complete next year a very frequent service is to be provided.

If you dont mind staying out of the centre then take a look at Bewleys Leopardstown. It is 20 mins by tram from city centre and has reasonable rates. The trams are very frequent for transport into the city centre and the aircoach will take you directly from the airport to this hotel

Would agree with Irish Eyes - Bewleys Hotel in Lepoardstown is a much better option there is good public transport into the city and it is a much better area. Parkwest is a new business area and is built beside well lets say a less safe part of Dublin personally I would not like to be walking around there at night from a train or a bus

hey there

i too would not suggest park west its more of a buisness park area with limited transport.

you would get a better area ansd probably price if you look nearer the city centre

days inn parnell street

or jurys hotel parnell street

these are central hotels which arent too expensive considering the prices of some hotels in the area.
