Hotel close to Ringaskiddy

Travelling down from the north en route to Brittany, and want to stay the night before sailing, in or around the ferry terminal. We don't really want too much driving that day, just maybe a bit of sightseeing and some lunch before heading to the boat, any ideas on a good hotel, a family room would be ideal as we have 3 children, and secure parking would also be a big plus, thanks guys........Bgekk.

Stay in Cork city, it's only 20 mins max to the ferry. Loads of options in Cork.

Carrigaline is only 10 minutes from Ringaskiddy and has some nice hotels.

The Carrigaline Court is good www.carrigcourt.com but there are others close by as well.

I would agree with all the recommendations above. Cork city is only a 25 min easy drive to the ferry, while Carrigaline is maybe 15. Accommodation will not be a problem as you have lots of opttions.

You would LOVE The Bosun in Monkstown for a pre sail lunch. Great pub, lovely food.

There is nowhere exciting to eat in Ringaskiddy itself.

Rather than having lunch prior to sailing why not just have a BIG breakfast and then an early dinner on the boat.

Lucky you, lovely trip.

A search has thrown up the Radisson blu near the airport, simply because it offers family rooms and interconnecting rooms, although reviews are not really all that good, can you throw some light on that one for me ?

The Radisson is in the airport complex and awful, soulless place (the complex not so much the radisson)

It's about 25 min drive to ferry terminal. Personally, I dislike the airport complex, there is nothing there apart from the airport building, and the two hotels.

There is another Radisson in Little Island which is convenient to the ferry port. It's about a 25 min drive there but on an excellent well signed road. (East Link West)

Thank's Bryno, that rules out the airport then, it's great having local info, really helps in planning, thank's again.
