Edited: 11 years agoIf you are talking about irelandescorted.com - book now! We just returned from an amazing week - family of 4 plus my mom, ages 10 - 70. There is no way this trip would have been nearly as good had we not traveled with them. They facilitated what I keep referring to and remembering as the trip of a lifetime. Our guide was phenomenal, better than I could have imagined. He educated, entertained and made sure not a moment was wasted. All with keeping us stress free, comfortable and relaxed. Booking with them was the smartest thing we have ever done when planning a trip.
Thanks for your comments. This was helpful.
Just returned from a weeklong tour with this company and they are terrific. It is a small, family-run business and during the pre-trip planning, I communicated with all three members of the company and they were great to deal with. The guide they gave us, Frank, was a bit quirky, but very knowledgeable and overall we really enjoyed him. Make sure you stay at the Pax House in Dingle, and avoid The Lodge in Kenmare. You will be happy with this tour company. We were.
Well, I was going to ask for some specifics about what was wrong with The Lodge. But now I've seen you've reviewed the place and the problem seems to be they didn't wait on you hand and foot lol.
"When you come in after a day of sightseeing, no one is there to greet you or give you tea."
I think perhaps expectations were a bit high. This wouldn't be the standard in any B&B I've ever stayed in. Sure, many places might offer a cup of tea when you arrive the first day and check in. But a B&B by the very nature is a family run business. They have a business to run, and a family to take care of. Not a lot of time to wait around for guests to come back from their day out and serve them tea!
I would highly recommend Small Escorted Tours of Ireland. They were great helping us plan our trip, and we exchanged lots of emails, I had asked for four star hotels and B&Bs, and they all were wonderful. Our guide, Maurice, was excellent. He gave us so much history, jokes, and even little Gaelic lessons. We felt safe and were able to enjoy all the beautiful scenery in comfort.
