Tourist Assistance Service for Visitors

I only came across this facility a few days ago and must admit I had never heard of it before.

The Irish Tourist Assistance Service is a voluntary nationwide service who offer support/assistance to visitors who may become victims of crime whilst on holiday. We all know that "things" can happen whether in Ireland/England/US or anywhere in the world. I had an attempted pickpocket incident in Lisbon a few years ago.

The booklet and website offer some practical, common sense advice and safety tips for all travellers to any destination.

It's reassuring that there is a facility here to help anyone who should fall victim of crime.

One to be bookmarked.
