five days with Dublin as a base

What do you suggest for five days in Ireland with Dublin as our base, and avoiding driving?

Assuming you do not want to stay all the time in Dublin, you can do day trips to locations such as Newgrange and Glendalough - probably best with organised day-trip coach tours as neither is easy to access by public transport, despite being relatively close to Dublin. For details of Glendalough and Newgrange (Bru na Boinne) see www.heritageireland.ie.

You can also comfortably do rail trips to towns such as Galway, Kilkenny or Belfast in a single day. See www.irishrail.ie. If you want to to visit more remote locations (Cliffs of Moher, Giant's Causeway etc) on a day trip basis, check out www.railtoursireland.com.
