Restaurants and pubs on Skye, Lewis and Ullapool

We will be visiting Skye and Lewis at the end of June through the beginning of July. Would appreciate suggestions for restaurants (with good food and views) and pubs, especially those with a local music scene. Anything else worth seeing during that period and advice about the weather would be appreciated. We are planning to visit Tallisker and the Callandish stones. We will be on each island for 2 days, before heading to Ullapool.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Just off Skye in Plockton the Plockton Inn is a great pub with a nice restaurant and fabulous food. On a Tuesday and Thursday night they also have music nights with local musicians coming in, to have a traditional music session. They really are great nights :-)

Cafe Ariba in Portree does good food and has a great view.

The bar at Flodigarry Hotel has been known to have live music - I was there a few years ago and had a great evening. Their seafood platters were amazing too.

Cafe Ariba is well worth a stop just for the coffee as well - best coffee for miles and miles.

Just before you get ot Talisker Distillery there's the Old Inn on the right hand side. Great food and drink.

As for the weather: If not happy, wait five minutes...

An Lanntair,Stornoway, looks right onto harbour and you can watch the ferry coming and going. An Lannair (Arts Centre) often has good bands/films etc, keep an eye on the website www.lanntair.com.

Port Beach House (www.portbeachhouse.co.uk/) right at the top of Lewis has great food and stunning views.

For coffee/cakes - Morvern Gallery in Barvas, Lewis and Skoon Cafe, Harris are my faves.

Thanks for your suggestions everyone, I will definitely check them out. What about the weather at the end of June? Should I just bring a raincoat and boots?
