Are all the shops and restaurants closed on the 2rd of January
They will be beginning to reopen but I wouldn’t expect everything to be right back to fully normal, despite Nairn’s standing as a resort.
Mad Scotsman is right - pubs and main hotels are the way to go but I’d also expect that food serving hours would be shorter than normal.
Put another way, when I was up that way a few days later in January this year, it was pretty much impossible to get a sit down meal anywhere after 8pm - and the few places that were serving later were reservation only and fully booked-out. I was lucky to find a carry out that was closing at 9pm and was their last customer of the night. Even the chipper and latest shops were all shut by 9.
