Some idea of your interests, budget etc would help - and TBH, simply reading the top couple of pages of threads in the Edinburgh Forum would inform you significantly as this all gets done on a continuous, rolling basis - and we are here to help, not do it all for you.!

A good few of the best traditional pubs are covered here:

Many of which will be good for sports as well.

Some good but not extortionate hotel suggestions here:

Places to eat - you really are spoiled for choice in Edinburgh, so again, some idea of price/location/type might be a good starting point.

Edinburgh Castle, the many historic cemeteries, the Royal Mile, Arthur's Seat, Calton Hill, Holyrood Palace and just walking all over the city were some of the highlights from our trip to Edinburgh in September of 2018. We had great meals at OINK, The Holyrood 9A, Albanach and Ensign Ewart just to name a few. Lots to do, see, drink and eat! Enjoy!

Whisky tasting? Ghost walk? Visit Murrayfield Rugby Stadium?

Lots of nice restaurants & bars just wander round the Old Town or Rose Street.
