New Parking arrangements at Belfast International Airport

Have just booked online for parking at the Long Stay car park and the confirmation e mail stats that a ticket will not be issued at the barrier (unlike in the past) but the car number plate will be read and barrier will be lifted.

However, attached to the email is a bar code ticket which is supposed to be a back up if the barrier does not raise. ?!

Has anyone had any experience of this new system and if they have had any problems with the barrier necessitating the use of the bar code ticket?

I was there 7-14 September and had no issues . The barrier raised as we drove up, although to be honest because we have used on several occasions in the past I had not paid attention to email so was still expecting a ticket to issue for use when leaving. We were therefore a little concerned about getting out on 14th however when leaving the barrier was fully up so we just had to drive straight out. .

Unfortunately it didnt seem plain sailing for all as when we were walking from car park to the departures on the 7th we were stopped by a lady driver asking what to do as she had pre booked and barrier wasn't lifting. We told her system should recognise registration and perhaps she hadn't been close enough to barrier and to try again but as we walked on I saw her still having problems and reverse out. She had also been trying to scan something which I assume is the back up your are referring to but it didn't seem to help. She was in a southern reg car unless that had some bearing on it although it shouldn't really.

We used the `Park and Fly' car park and the same system is in operation there...worked fine on number plate recognition

The barrier has always worked for us upon number plate recognition .. don't worry, you'll be fine.

Haven't used the international's one but know that the number plate recognition system at the City airport has never worked for me (standard number plate). However, simply press the intercom and give your number plate and they'll open the barrier (only a slight inconvenience).

Sometimes we can experience that but when online booking we should make sure sometimes. Use that one as a backup. Maybe you have a receipt. Try to booked on airport parking Belfast, Visit this site below.

There's no reason to remove post 5. It's a third party reseller along with others. I regular check a number of sites and normally the best is to go to Martin's MoneySavingExpert.com and use the links there with discount codes.
