Stonehenge in October. Tickets in advance or from driver?

Hello,

in October I have planned a day trip from London to Stonehenge and found online about http://www.thestonehengetour.info/ which provides bus and entry ticket.

Is it advisable to buy it in advance or is better to buy directly from the driver? Is the price the same?

What is the difference between 'Bus, Old Sarum, & Stonehenge - £28' and 'Bus, Old Sarum, Stonehenge, & Cathedral - £34' tickets? Is there a fee to enter the Cathedral?

Thanks

You can buy tickets in advance or on the day, the price is the same. Yes it costs to get into the Cathedral - except for attending services, but they let you in, see you out and then start charging again!

Definitely buy from the driver! They hop off the bus at Stonehenge and purchase the entrance tickets then hand them out as you step off the bus. Very easy.

Somewhere online I read people suggesting to book in advance the entry to Stonehenge. Is this information inaccurate?

Considering, as you said, the admission to enter the Cathedral is voluntary is advisable to buy the £28 ticket (which doesn't include)? Do you remember how much is the recommended price?

Thanks

If you arrive on the dedicated bus service you automatically get priority entrance - so in that case you don't need to pre book.

Salisbury Cathedral - entrance is free, there is a large board at the entrance with "suggested" donation amounts. (£6.50/adult)

All funds for the maintenance and operation come from donations- so says the same sign.
