Xmas market

Hi.

We've just booked the Minster Hotel for a couple of days. Is it near the Christmas market.

Thank you.

The Christmas markets are spread out and York is easily walkable.

The main market stalls are in the Shambles Market and Food Court area which is a 10 minute walk (slow walk) from the Minster but obviously the Shambles themselves will be worth a look as you walk past all the shops to the market.

the christmas market takes up most of the centre of york, not only the main shambles market. a walk straight up bootham and through the bar then down petergate will soon have you there

Bootham is ideal for exploring York. A straight walk down to the traffic lights and then keep walking straight on under Bootham Bar (the portcullis) and straight on past York Minster and then straight on down Low Petergate to Kings Square and the Shambles and you can cut through there to the Shambles Market and Parliament St and the Christmas Market.

It's a very leisurely 10 - 15 minute walk all in all...
