question on Marriott Maide Vale

we have the opportunity to stay here at a significantly reduced rate ($100 per night including breakfast) but am concerned because all the posts indicate its too far. Our plan was on the morning we arrive was just to stay in that area, see Little Venice, Abbey Road and possibly Regents Park. Very low key due to jet lag and then take in an early dinner and get a good nights sleep. We are the type that once we are out, we don't go back and forth to our home base to rest. we will have three full days then to see the rest of the attractions and on the 4 th day take the train to Paris. My questions are approximately what is the cost of the tube ride from here to places like the British Museum, buckingham Palace, etc and how far is it? On the maps it doesn't appear to be much further than Notting Hill or Kings Cross or am I missing something completely? For the price and quality of the hotel I don't think there is anything else comparable closer . thank you.

It is certainly further away than Kings Cross but it is not in the middle of nowhere. Kilburn tube is about 5 minutes walk away, maybe 10 minutes to Maida Vale tube. 10-15 minute walk to Regents Park and probably 30 minute walk if you wanted to go all the way to marble Arch on foot.

If the price is good then it is a reasonable option although probably not the most modern Mariott property.

In terms of getting to Tube stations, Kilburn Park station is only a short walk away. You'll be able to get to most places in London pretty quickly.

The location of the hotel isn't brilliant: a few tower blocks and local shops not in the best condition but the walk to the tube station is down a nice residential street so you should be OK.

In terms of cost of Tube, get a zone 1 & 2 travelcard which is £8.80 a day or £30.40 for a week. That covers you for tube, tram, bus, DLR, London Overground and national rail services within those zones. See this map: tfl.gov.uk/assets/…standard-tube-map.pdf for the zones.

You're welcome and if you'd like a good local restaurant, take a 206 bus over here.
