Well, I can honestly tell you I've never been into Lincoln on Christmas Day, but I do know that in previous years most of the pubs/hotels/independent restaurants are open and do meals on Christmas Day, obviously at a massively inflated price.

I've noticed that the chain restaurants are not open on Christmas Day (although weirdly and depressingly Harvester is). I suspect pubs to be open for a portion of the day. Also depending what hotel you choose to stay in, will probably at least have an open bar.

Christmas Eve and Boxing Day are very similar. Very busy and most, but not all, places are open - although Christmas Eve is on a Monday this year which may mean it's a little less busy than the past few years.

I'd suggest booking well in advance for your main meals on all of these days. Do you have an idea of where you want to eat and where you want to stay?

I stayed in Lincoln for Christmas once, but the (then THF) Hotel put on lots of entertainment.

Likely there will be some things going on at the Cathedral. Keep an eye on the Cathedral website.

Good advice to prebook restaurants, and to check the Lincoln Cathedral website. The Christmas Eve service is lovely.

I don't think Lincoln is probably any different from any other cities in terms of what is open and how busy it is.

I suppose some people are into going out for a meal Christmas Day and those that stay at home or visit families homes.
