Hunter Chase on May 5

I just discovered there will be a race on May 5 and my hubby and I are thinking of going. Will we be able to get tickets on the day of the race?

This is an evening meeting with seven races. Yes, just turn up, it's the last meet of the season and is popular but not a sell out.

Absolutely, gates open at 3.15 and the first race is at 5.10 you will have no problem buying a ticket on the day.

It's a really fun meeting, a series of races for amateur riders, but don't be fooled it's serious stuff. The crowd are always friendly and enthusiastic and I am sure you'll have a great time

Great! Looking forward to it. We are staying at Cotswold Grange, what would be the best way to get there as we won't have a car. Should we be there at 3:15?

Even I wouldn't get there until 4pm, don't know where Cotswolds Grange is so can't help with that bit.

There is no bus route between hotel and racecourse, so as Gaz suggests a taxi. Otherwise it is quite a pleasant walk along Albert Road, just over a mile, or divert slightly into Pittville Park. Use postcodes GL52 2QH and GL52 3LZ on http://www.theaa.com/route-planner/index.jsp

If starting in town centre (after lunch?) buses D/E towards Bishops Cleeve, or taxi ranks in The Parade.

There's no need to be there at 3.15 but if you've not been before you might find it interesting to have a look around the "Hall of Fame" and explore a bit, they do sometimes have guided tours that are free to join (I've never taken notice of wether they offer them on the Hunter Chase evening), and there are plenty of places to have a drink or a bite to eat.

It's a really friendly event and I am sure you'll have a great time.
