Chester pub crawl/Session

13 November 2015, 14:15

Was brought up in Chester but as no longer there,& considerably older,so Outve the loop.

Could anyone advise on a Chester pub crawl for middle aged guys?

Don't want banging music and chocca with kids places-Which unfortunately I'm led to believe Chester is now

Don't mind 1/2 livelier places

But generally would like a logical tour route-start to finish, suitable for older people

In and around the town centre if possible

Thanks in advance

You could start at lower bridge street....

- Bear and Billet (big pub plenty of good beers) at the bottom of lower bridge street then

- Cross Keys (Joules Brewery, good choice of ales) on the opposite side of the road as you come back up the street

-The Brewery Tap (Spitting Feather's local brewery) back on the other side of the road a little further up the street

- The Falcon (Sam Smiths ales, very cheap), further up the same street

- Golden Eagle on castle street just around the corner, good jukebox

If you want to include a couple of additional pubs you could start over the bridge in Handbridge, I would start at the Grosvenor arms on the corner opposite the petrol station and then visit the Ship Inn as you walk towards lower bridge street.

If you still want another pub then head to the Pied Bull on Northgate street, this tour should suit your requirements.
