Lake Garda weather - mid to late April

Hi we are a family with two small children (2yr and 3mths) and we are thinking of Lake Garda in Mid to late April in order to avoid the really hot weather. Can anyone give me an idea what the weather would be like in mid to late April - we would ideally like low 20's during day max - when would be best top go? dara

Hi, because of the mountains the weather can be unpredictable. The average temperature for April is 18 degrees with 7 hours of sun. We were there in mid May last year and the temperatures were probably low 20's, warm enough for shorts sleeves and sitting outdoors. We had four days of fairly sunny weather then three days of very low cloud and some rain, but never cold. Having said that, last year all around the Lakes was a very poor Spring. B

In history, temps over 30° were never seen before may, so if that is your concern, you're ok!
