Walking the Beach

I am planning on staying at the Jewel Dunns River Resort and Spa and I understand there is not a walking beach to speak of there. Where do I need to go to get to a good 1-2 mile walk on the beach around that area?

"Where will I need to go to be able to take a 1-2 mile stroll along the beach?"

Try Rio Bueno, it is about 25 miles west of your hotel. Most beaches on the north shore of the island are much shorter than the 1-2 miles of continuous sand you are looking for.

You could go around the the pier and walk on the beach of the Riu Ochi Rios and that is real long.

The Jewel beach is some 700 feet long. If you then walk the adjacent RIU beach, then across the Bamboo Blu and then into the Mammee Bay Estates beach, the one way distance is about 0.6 miles.

Maybe that is long enough.

Are you able to get around the pier fairly easy? Also is there beach bars or restaurants that you can access off the beach ?

Bamboo Blu fits that bill. You will not have access to the beach facilities of the RIU as you are restricted to the water line of the shore.
