reallady posted on another thread that this was information sent to Palace Resort members by Palace Resorts. While I believe reallady, I tend to not be very trusting with information sent by Palace Resorts.

Just there 2 weeks ago. No mention made. I find it hard to believe this cultural ancient gem AND moneymaker/toursit drawer has really closed. Perhaps it's just the pyramid? I did notice some of the buildings were closed off that I was ablo to enter last visit.

We were there 4 weeks ago, and like you, no mention of any closure coming up. I guess we wait for more information from someone that is there. Of course if people want to pay my airfare to go down to check it out I would be more than happy to do it.

I checked twitter (INAH Quintana Roo tweets regularly) and saw no mention of any closing at Cobá. I sent a message via Twitter to INAH QR to verify or dispute the story.

I'll let the group know what I find.

10. Re: Coba Ruins Closed

I searched the Mexican edition of Google News for "Coba cerrado" (closed) and found only two hits, neither about the site.

Sounds like a bogus rumor.
