Restaurants Certificate of Excellence????

We're going to Stratford for 2 nights the end of this month. I am a picky eater and we don't like "yuppie" food (more about presentation). When looking through the restaurants I notice that ALL the ones I looked at have a TA Certificate of Excellence. I'm beginning to wonder if this designation is over used. I don't like the menus at Keystone Alley, Rene's Bistro or Soup Surreal, Foster's Inn menu doesn't appeal either and I think it's VERY expensive. The ONLY places that appeal are only opened for lunch; Sirkel Foods, Boomers and York Street Kitchen. Any suggestions/comments?

Hi Senga;

You are confusing being ranked #1 as meaning the “best”. Being in first place in the rankings, means that a business is the most popular, based on its traveller reviews.

tripadvisor.com/help/how_does_the_popularity…

As an example - the #1 restaurant in town could be a McDonald’s. That doesn’t mean that it is the “best” restaurant in town, just that it is the most popular.

For more information about the "Certificate of Excellence", take a look at this "Help Centre" page...

Best Regards

So ...because none of the restaurants happen to appeal to you, they should not have a certificate of excellence? Seems you're not just a picky "eater" ... just generally picky.... there's a Tim Horton's in town ... maybe that's up your alley...

Yuppies? That term hasn't been used since the 80s, Now it is all about GenZ.

If you cannot find a restaurant in Stratford, that appeals then you really are fussy. Maybe take out from a fast food place?

It's less racist and just more ignorant. What a sad way to see the world though.

OP, I'm sure that Stratford has a Swiss Chalet so you can get your fill of boring, mass produced junk.

OP,

Stratford's got a Swiss Chalet at 684 Ontario Street. I'm sure that'll suit you.
