Reef Bay Hike starting place

We will be camping at Cinnamon Bay and want to do the Reef Bay (organized) hike. Do we really have to go to Cruz Bay to pick up the transportation to the trailhead? Can we go directly to the trailhead? And how do we get there? Hike? Taxi? We are a group of 6 teen Girl Scouts and 2 leaders. All in fair to good shape. Trip is 2 weeks from today!

If you are doing the NPS guided hike you must meet at the NP Building in Cruz Bay. They then transport you by pre arranged taxi's to the trail head. You do need to reserve in advance and I would call them tomorrow to reserve your space as it is limited and they sell out quickly even in low season as they run a reduced schedule.
