Are you coming on a ship and what do you mean by city tour? George Town is better for you to walk around as the streets are crowded on days when ships are in. The port is right there. You can google the ops that go to Stingray City and or the Sandbar and see who offers other trips (some snorkel) etc. If the excursion is short enough you would have time to make it back to town and walk around before the ship leaves.

Wondered if any of the operators would take us to both the starfish and stingrays and still have time for anything else. Part of my group want a tour of the island...maybe turtle farm. rum cake, etc while I want to see the stingrays and the starfish. Is it the sand bar or stingray city that you would recommend if you only did one

Just a a head's up in my opinion if you go to a snorkel spot that is teeming with fish or has something special going on (I'm a diver and will make repeat dives on the same spot if there are eagle rays etc., in the water), I would not want to jump around to several spots, but rather enjoy what wonderful delight Mother Nature is serving up. Sometimes less is definitely more. You are spending so much time getting from place to place on a cruise it seems silly to go racing around when you are not on the ship. Take the time to enjoy, besides you never that going to different spot will have anything at all to offer at any given time.

If I had to pick one marine life sights to see, it would be the Sting Rays. The Rays will always appear at either one of their "Cities", while the Starfish may or may not be "home" on their beach when you visit.

The Sting Ray City Sand Bar location is best for most folks as you can actually have your feet planted on something as the rays come to say hello. If you are comfortable in the water snorkeling or better yet a diver, then the Sting Ray City Dive Site is also an option.

Good news is that there should be plenty of time for you to visit both a Sting Ray City and Starfish Beach before having to head back to the ship.

lvalle -- do you work for or have an interest in Cayman Private Charters? Just curious as you seem really keen to plug them and the Stingray City/Coral Gables/Reef just happens to be the snorkel trip they offer. Is there any other companies you have experience with or would recommend? It is especially nice having someone on the island be able to recommend ops, restaurants, etc. Thanks!

LV, have you noticed that a number of your posts have been removed from TA for being inappropriate? Perhaps you should re-read the posting guidelines before you continue your ambitious posting campaign.

Not that she needs defending, but Retrip has been a Cayman visitor for many years, and many trips each year. She is a property owner there, as well, who always self discloses when indicated. ( you might try it ). Her posts here are consistent, knowledgeable and well respected.
