Is anyone familiar with Travelwise to ‘wire’ money?

Instead of doing a bank transfer through my bank and incurring exchange rate costs (US dollar to Euros) and fees this online company says it charges much lower fees.

It sounds too good to be true so I’m wondering what the catch is.

I saw that it gives you some sort of option that determines what percentage fee you’ll be charged.

I just used them to pay hotel. Charged less than $10 for $600 transfer to Euro. You need recipients IBAN #. Bank would have charged $25, + 3% on currency conversion, etc. Facebook has an agreement with them for transfers using messenger. The only odd thing is that you have to log into your bank acct as part of the process, but supposedly that's encrypted.

Checked bank acct and it hasn't been cleared out!
