Barbados is at it's quietest in September, some restaurants and hotels closing for refurbishment and holidays, but If you are looking for a beach holiday then the sea on the West is probably at it's calmest during August and September and there shoul be some good deals on offer . It is hurricane season of course, but they are rare in Barbados and as we had the first one ever since 1954 last October, the odds are pretty good against having another one soon.

You get more bang for your buck on the south coast and there are many more "kid friendly" dining options IMO. Good quality south coast hotels that might suit your budget and needs would be Bougainvillea, Accra Beach Hotel, Hilton, Turtle Beach (all inclusive).
