Beach Recommendation

We stayed at the Tamarind last year and as I am not a strong swimmer I found the current and the very stony shelving beach too rough for me to swim in. We would like to go back to Barbados and would love to know if anyone can recommend a beach which is sandy and safe making it easier for me to swim! We will then pick our hotel accordingly! Many thanks

Take a look at Litte Arches, super hotel across the road from Miami Beach, one of the finest in Barbados. It has small waves on one side and like a millpond on the other, have never experienced any currents there. There is also a lifeguard station on the beach.

Also Mullins beach is now so narrow due to erosion, and the Royal Westmorland sun beds directly in front of the beach bar really give it a packed appearance. It is a pity the Westmoreland are allowed to take over that section of the beach with beds which are frequently unused.

Indeed Blodwenlancz, !!!

it is a great shame that Westmorland have virtually taken over Mullins Beach

...whilst they have not managed to actually make it 'private' ( which legally they can't) ...they certainly have managed to give that impression

Pebbles beach or Carlisle beach - south west by radisson and Hilton. I live in Barbados and these are my 2 favourites for calm Water and ease of entry to the sea. Also in the tourist area so many hotels nearby and restaurants etc and everything accessible.
