Bay Bridge and a Rental Car

I don't have a clear understanding of whether the Pensacola Bay Bridge is a pay by plate only toll or not. We will be in Okaloosa Island and going to the National Aviation Museum one day. We have a rental car and don't want to incur the E-toll billing of $20 plus tolls for the sake of one day's crossing. Cash toll option is fine. (It has already been suggested that we take Rt 10 to Rt 85 from PNS airport to Okaloosa to avoid plate only toll bridge...but is this another option? Map apps give at least three options and this area is new to us. Thanks ahead of time.

The Bay Bridge is pay by plate only. You could take I-10 from the airport.

There is no toll on the Pensacola Bay Bridge. There is a toll on the Bob Sikes Bridge going out to Pensacola Beach and the Garcon Point Bridge (at Hwy 98 and Avalon Blvd) is a toll.

From Fort Walton to NAS Naval Air Station Pensacola you shouldn't have to take a toll bridge, traveling on 98. Yes, you will cross a bridge. A long bridge in Gulf Breeze area referred to as 3 mile bridge by locals and is free. cityofgulfbreeze.us/3-mile-bridge-cameras/ Is not 3 miles long.

Hwy 98 does have traffic and lites. Drive could take 1 hour half to 2 hours depending.
