Weather in mid June for Johannesburg

What is the weather like in mid to late June in Johannesburg?

what should we wear during the day, for going to the zoo with families, does it get cold?

I know that early morning and late evening will be cold, but what about during the daytime. We planning to bring only T-shirt and hoodies.

The current weather forecast for Johannesburg for that time period is a daytime high of between 15-19 degrees C, and a low of between 3 and degrees C. T-shirts are not advisable at night. Remember Johannesburg is at an altitude of over 1800 meters or 6000 feet above sea level.

Joburg has probably the best weather out there for winter. It is sunny for like 4 months straight. The locals like to think it gets cold but as someone that's from cold places, I always chuckled when i saw them wearing coats coming out of their cars. I never wore more than a long sleep shirt, and a light jacket if i was going out at night. Day time is a very pleasant 15-20 degrees and the mornings can be a bit brisk.

If you go to the bush however, all bets are off. The temps do drop significantly more.

I always remind folks how short the days seem at that time of the year.

It's like 'turning the lights off' starting about 430P.

So - do as much as you can through the main part of the day.
